Wrightsville Beach is a friendly beach surf town just outside the city borders of Wilmington NC. With plenty of beach wedding locations to appease a beach bride & groom. Photographers have been creating wonderful images on the shores of Shell Island Resort. Another popular location is the South End of the island, near the coast guard station sound side. You might want to check about wedding permits to hold such a event. You can check with the town hall if needed.
